Southern Breeze Equestrian Center is a full service facility, offering lessons, training, boarding and horse sales.

Lessons are offered in both Hunter/Jumper and Dressage, with special emphasis on development of a balanced seat and position of the rider. The therapeutic riding program offers physical therapy for disabled individuals. Basic and advanced training for horses is always available. Horses and ponies at all levels of training are offered for sale.

Our director and head trainer, Cathy Strobel is an active participant in the horse community. In addition to running Southern Breeze and keeping an active teaching and training schedule, Cathy coaches the Rice University Equestrian Team, serves as President of the Gulf Coast Horse Show Association, is currently a Vice President of the Greater Houston Horse Council and regularly shares her expertise as a monthly columnist for Horseback Magazine. Her articles can be read online at www.horsebackmagazine.com. She has also developed a Therapeutic Riding Program over the past 10 years. With the help of some very special teachers, volunteers who generously give their time on a routine basis and some wonderful hard working horses, the Therapeutic program currently serves a large number of riders with special needs.

Cathy Strobel's training began over 30 years ago in Maryland with hunters and jumpers. Through the years her education and training has continually grown to include dressage, western, saddle seat and halter training. Her experience in the show ring as a competitor, trainer and judge has given her a wealth of knowledge to pass on to students, assistant trainers and horses in training.

Specializing in hunters, jumpers and dressage, she has developed a successful system of training riders and horses that is logical and easy to understand.

All of our trainers are well-educated to insure excellent instruction for the level of the riders they are teaching. All of the trainers use the same system and each student's progress is tracked. Through our team effort, solutions can always be found for individual students with specific riding problems to develop them to their fullest potential. We love helping students fulfill their dreams.
